Taking Your Privacy Back From Google2018-03-04T19:35:21+00:00

Google – Going, going, GONE!

Google has a dominant position in online advertising and online intrusion.  They have invaded just about every part of our digital experience.  Your privacy has been compromised!

Time to take back some of your privacy by denying Google YOUR information for THEIR advantage.

Get started by going to Google.com/takeout and log into one or more of your accounts and see some many ways you have provided Google with your information.  Much of this can be downloaded to your local computer and reprovisioned for use in a different application by a less intrusive provider. One that respects your privacy.

That’s a start, now analyze the settings on your smart phone and find alternate applications for apps like Google Maps, GMail, even Google.com for seaches.  Some may take a bit of getting used to.  for instance, I use maps.me to replace Google maps, I use DuckDuckGo.com to replace Google search, I use ProtonMail.com to replace GMail and so on.

Now start using a Ad Blocking and script blocking software in your existing browser ( I like ghostery.com) or try a newer browser named BRAVE which can be found at Brave.com.  Now you are really becoming effective at denying Google the information it needs to dominate.

Now be aware of your ISP and use a VPN.  If you go to Starbucks and use Wi-Fi, be aware that Google likely is the defacto ISP and they are in your privacy again.
