Federal government attempts to invade your online privacy!

The Department of Justice (DoJ) wants all visitors’ IP addresses – some 1.3 million – to a website that helped organise a protest on the day of President Trump’s inauguration.  This is an attempt by federal government to learn your online behavior and use it against you.  Agreeing or disagreeing with the motive is not what is at issue.  The issue is the continual erosion of online privacy.

DreamHost is currently refusing to comply with the request and is due in court later this month.

Any risk, to you the individual, could have been mitigated by using some of the techniques shown on this site.  By having used just a VPN, the IP gathered would be essentially meaningless to feds.  Get started protecting yourself.
